11th March 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

HT’s Communication – Thursday 11th March

Today was the first day of on-site face-to-face teaching for all students in Years 10 – 13. It is good to have them back. Thank you to all our parent/carers for your support in helping the transition back to school.

Lateral Flow Test Update

We have now tested over 800 members of our school community and I would like to thank our staff and parent volunteers who have made this such an efficient process. We are awaiting a delivery of student home test kits for you to begin testing twice weekly. These are due to be with us on Friday 12th March and we hope to distribute the tests as soon as we are able, so that home testing may commence next week for Years 10 – 13. A reminder of the return to school and testing schedule for Years 7, 8 and 9 can be found here. When students come in for their first lateral flow test only, they do not need to be in school uniform, however must wear a face mask and follow safety protocols.

Return to School Expectations

Students are expected in full school uniform from the first day of full teaching. Face masks must be worn whilst in the building.

Students must bring their lanyards, school planner and equipment, together with subject exercise books required for the day. Please continue with home routines to support a productive day of learning, such as packing school bags the evening before using the school timetable, good sleep routines to be refreshed and ready for the school day.

Monday 15th March is a Week A and we look forward to having everyone in the school back on-site by the end of next week.

A reminder that students in Years 10 and 11 will return to their registration being at the end of the day, meaning their start time will be 8.55am and they will finish at 3.25pm.

As I said in my previous letter, many of our children will be excited and eager to return to school from next week, however some of our students may be anxious and worried. Please do let us know if your child does need support by emailing their Head of Year.

Joint Year 11 and 13 Parent Forum

On Tuesday 16 March at 2.00pm we will be holding a joint forum for parent/carers of students in Years 11 and 13 to give an update on the Centre Assessed Grades process.
