Dear Parents and Carers

As we near the conclusion of another rewarding term at SNS, I hope this message reaches you and your families in good spirits and ready to embrace the holiday season. This time of year invites us to reflect on the achievements, growth, and unforgettable experiences our students have enjoyed over the past months. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your steadfast support and partnership in fostering an environment where our children can thrive. Your commitment and engagement have played a crucial role in making this term a tremendous success.

Our incredible annual production of ‘We Will Rock You’ featuring over 130 students was phenomenal! Huge thank you to all our amazing students who played a part in making this show possible and for showing their commitment by turning up regularly to rehearsals and their courage in displaying their impressive talents. I want to give a special thank you to the staff involved in producing the show, our Music and Drama Department.

Congratulations to our November 2025 Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners: Boco, Bryan, and Ivo. Boco and Ivo have shown outstanding commitment to mathematics, supporting the department and mentoring younger students through Maths Circles, and will use their grants to purchase large whiteboards for the after-school maths club. Bryan has been an exceptional Student Librarian, showing creativity, initiative, and a strong commitment to supporting others, and will use his grant to buy novels for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are proud of all three for the positive impact they make on our school community.

I feel a great sense of pride in our children, who consistently strive to excel academically, build strong social connections, and demonstrate compassion for those in need. We are fortunate to have such thoughtful young people who embody the values that contribute to a brighter future.

Our magazine, Spotlight, is now available to view using this link. The Autumn Edition celebrates our amazing events and news stories from term.

Support During Holiday Period

We understand it that there may be financial strains in the lead up to Christmas which can impact on families & young people’s mental health. Do know that there are points of support in the community such as Hackney Foodbank. Mental health can also be affected in the lead up to holidays as the year comes to an end as our focus shifts towards our families and loved ones. Please be aware that there are helplines that will still be available throughout the Christmas period such as:

  • Mind
  • Samaritans – 116 123
  • Kooth
  • Grief Encounter – 0808 802 0111
  • Hopeline – 0800 068 4141
