For every pupil, making the right choices is crucial to a fulfilling and rewarding working life. At Stoke Newington School & Sixth Form, our careers service equips pupils with the information, guidance and assistance they need to define their next steps.

The careers department offers a whole host of services designed to help pupils recognise their best attributes, understand the opportunities open to them and make the right choices.

As well as advice on careers and applying to university we offer information about BTEC courses, apprenticeships and fully funded degree opportunities. We bring in expert professionals, organise in school opportunities and educational trips to enhance each students learning. The careers department also organises work experience for students in Year 12. You will also find the latest information sites, advice and guidance about everything to do with careers.

Work Experience is an invaluable opportunity for students.

Work Experience improves:

  2. Your UCAS statement
  3. Your understanding of careers and life after SNS
  4. Your employability
  5. Your chance of getting part-time work

Parents are asked to complete the parent permission slip before the Christmas holidays and return them to the Careers Room. The student own find form needs to be completed by a placement employer and returned to the Careers Room by the beginning of May. Help is available in the Careers Room if you need information on how to find a placement.
