Creative Day!
A wonderful day of trips and workshops
We hope everyone is enjoying their half term break! We finished off the first half of Spring term with one of our fantastic Creative Days! In our Creative Days, students are off timetable and take part in exciting trips and activities all day.
Year 7 and Year 9 students were lucky to take trips into central London to absorb all the amazing culture on offer in the capital. Year 7 tutor groups took trips to the Horniman Museum, Bank of England, Kew Gardens, Wallace Collection, and the V&A: Museum of the Home and the Young. Year 9s visited Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Wellcome Collection, Barbican, Sadler's Wells, National Portrait Gallery and the Imperial War Museum.
The focus for Year 8s was careers and GCSE choices, as they choose their options later this year. A wide range of professionals were speaking about their careers and how their own GCSE and A Level choices led them to their careers. The aim of these talks were to help students understand the link between GCSE subject choices and careers and ultimately help them make informed, positive choices when they choose their GCSEs at the end of March.
Year 10 attended a workshop session led by Talk Talk. The aim of the session was to:
- develop their understanding of how work experience links to future career aspirations
- develop their understanding of the skills and qualities employers look for
- gain confidence in promoting themselves in interviews
- develop their problem solving and resilience skills to help them make the most out of their work experience placement.
Year 11 spent the day knuckling down and focusing on exam practice and exam technique, with their final exams coming up very soon.
We hope everyone enjoys their half term break, and see you on Monday!
