Stokey Scholars’ Success
Year 8 get a taste of university learning
Last term, SNS students in Year 8 enrolled in the Scholars’ Program – an initiative designed to give students who might not have considered going to University the chance to sample what University learning is like. The program is run by the Brilliant Club in conjunction with several UK Universities, including Cambridge University, which was kind enough to host our students (virtually).
Five students completed the course, which was taught entirely online for the first time in its history, successfully submitting long-format essays which were graded using University grading systems. The focus of the essays was ‘Peace’.
A huge congratulations to Aaron, Denis, Freddie, George and Oscar, all of whom passed the course. Two of the students attained a 1st Class Pass, with one student getting 93% in his final assessment!
Well done to everyone who took park in such difficult circumstances. You are all true Scholars…
