The SNS Performing Arts Tech Team supports the Drama Department’s work, from costume and lighting design, to set and music video production. Students will learn a range of skills, starting with the technical support in the lower school and taking on more design orientated roles as they progress through the school.

The clubs are open to students of all abilities. Students are welcome to join at any time during the school year and will find a welcoming & supportive group of students all working towards a common goal. We are looking for students with a range of skills – We need artists, mathematicians, coders… you name it!

The tech team will have four groups:

Junior Tech Team (year 7)

Students will still be involved in events. Those in this group will be introduced to a broad set of skills across all areas and students will discover their specific interests)

Lower School Tech Team (Year 8 & 9)

Students will start working towards the ABTT SSG (theatre union) Bronze award. To achieve this, students can start to decide on specific areas but will still need to keep up a variety of skills, it is all hands on covered by doing events but is still mostly technical.

Upper school Tech Team (Year 10 & 11)

These students become the staple for running shows as well as starting to develop their design skills, leading to a Silver Award in the ABTT SSG scheme.

Senior tech team (Sixthform)

These students will predominantly work in show leading and design rolls, being lead designers on the upper school play. These students may also get the opportunities to become in house techs using the skills they have developed.

This year we will be launching the programme taster day on September 15th after school in the theatre.
