Creative Day 2022

It's been another very successful Creative Day at SNS. Students were off-timetable, taking part in creative enrichment activities.

To complement our reading of the gothic novel Coraline, Year 7 are going to exercise their imaginations through a variety of spooky themed tasks! In the morning they will visit the local nature reserve of Abney Park - one of the Seven Magnificent London Cemeteries - for inspiration on how to describe settings. They will also get to bring their ideas to life by designing and building their own creepy creatures which will feature as characters in their spooky story writing in the afternoon.

Year 8 and Year 10 students visited various cultural landmarks/venues in London.

Half of Year 9 were working in DT creating stencils for placards that will be manufactured in art inspired by artist Bob and Roberta Smith. The other half worked in the performing arts department, taking part in several workshops with a Black history theme.

Year 11 will be sat mock exams throughout the day and experience a motivational talk in the theatre.
