Headteacher's update for parents/carers
LFT update, forums, and key dates
Dear Parent/Carer,
HT’s Communication – Monday 8 March
It was lovely to see students return to the building today. Staff are especially excited for the start of face to face teaching of our Year 11 and 13 students from tomorrow.
Lateral Flow Test Update
Years 11 and 13 students came on site today as the first year groups to undergo Lateral Flow Testing as part of the staggered return. Thank you to parent/carers who prepared students for today’s testing, they were incredibly mature, punctual, and actively demonstrated social distancing. A reminder of our Lateral Flow Test page on our website can be found here which includes an informative video on the process, including Tutor group testing times.
Parent Forums
Our Parent Forums have been extremely useful in supporting our community by dealing with issues as soon as possible and strengthening communication between home and school. As we transition back to face to face teaching, we will continue with the parent forums, however the frequency will be reduced to every other week, given the students are now back on site. After Easter, these forums will be twice every half term for the rest of the academic year, as a key platform to support our young people and their families as we move to the new era.
Please see times and links below for upcoming meetings. These, along with future forums, will also be updated to the school calendar. For parents who are unable to attend, the forums will continue to be recorded and uploaded to the Weekly Forum Folders. If you need a reminder of the link and password, please email admin@sns.hackney.sch.uk

One Year On Event
Preparation for our One Year On evening on Thursday 25 March at 6.00pm are well underway. It will be wonderful to have our whole community come together to commemorate those who we have lost, show appreciation to all those who have given so much to help others, recognise our differing experiences, reflect on what we have learnt and share our hopes for the future.
Key Dates
Key dates can now be found on our school calendar that will be updated regularly. You can find a link here.
Happy International Women’s Day to you all. This year’s theme is #choosetochallenge. As stated in the International Women’s Day 2021 campaign, we can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
Here is to a more inclusive world full of hope and opportunity for all our young people.
Keep safe and well.
