A level French – Summer Assignment
Due 4th September 2024
In preparation for starting A level French, here are a list of tasks that we recommend you complete:
- Change the language setting on your phone to French
- Watch a French-speaking series/TV show/film
- Listen to French-speaking music/podcasts
- Use an app like Duolingo to encourage daily practice (although you will have to jump ahead as your level will be too advanced for some units)
- Use the website Quizlet to access A level French (Edexcel) vocabulary flashcards
- Watch YouTube videos on French grammar explanations, dictation exercises and pronunciation modelling
In addition to this, you will find Vocabulary Lists for Units 1-6 found below. Familiarise yourself with this new vocabulary.
Finally, try to complete the AS French Paper 1 from 2017, found below. This will give you an insight into which topics will be taught in Year 12 and to be able to see the vocabulary in context.
Bonnes vacances !
