Bullying & Harassment
Information to support you with issues related to bullying & harassment
Through our comprehensive approach to addressing bullying and harassment, we aim to not only respond to incidents but also prevent them from occurring in the first place. We educate our students about the importance of empathy, respect, and inclusivity through our curriculum, assemblies, and extracurricular activities. By promoting positive values and raising awareness about the impact of bullying, we foster a collective responsibility among our students to create a nurturing and inclusive school community.
Our strong stance on anti-bullying plays a crucial role in creating a safe and caring environment for all our students. We believe that every student has the right to learn and thrive in an atmosphere free from harassment, intimidation, and discrimination. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion, where bullying in any form is not tolerated.
To address bullying effectively, we have implemented comprehensive strategies and policies that promote awareness, prevention, and intervention. Our staff members are trained to recognize the signs of bullying and respond promptly and appropriately to any incidents. We encourage students to speak up and report instances of bullying, assuring them that their concerns will be taken seriously and dealt with confidentially.
Additionally, our staff members have undergone specialized training known as 'Champions Training' to further enhance their ability to support pupils in reporting harassment safely. This training equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a safe and confidential space for students to disclose incidents of bullying or harassment. By fostering a trusting and supportive environment, we empower students to come forward and seek assistance without fear of judgment or reprisal.
Furthermore, we actively involve parents, carers, and the wider community in our anti-bullying efforts. We provide resources and guidance to families on recognizing and addressing bullying, ensuring that the support network extends beyond the school premises. By fostering strong partnerships and open lines of communication, we create a united front against bullying, reinforcing the message that it is unacceptable in any setting.
If you have any concerns relating to bullying and/or harassment please contact the relevant Head of Year. Alternatively, we have an online anonymous reporting tool available here.
