KS3

Year 7 & 8 have been watching Wonder.land. 60 mins Choose ONE of the 3 different activities to complete and demonstrate your understanding of Theatre makers and the play.

1) Set design – Draw out your own Set Design for when Ally first enters Wonder.land. Write what the colour, material and size of the items on stage are. You must come up with at least 5 items on stage. Challenge: Create a model of your set with ordinary things around your house.

2) Costume Design – Draw out a costume design for Alice (the avatar version of Ally). You should include shoes, hair, makeup and clothing. Write down what colours, materials and silhouettes you want to use. Challenge: Try to create the costume with clothing and other items around your house.

3) Monologue – Write a monologue for Ally to show how she feels when she first shows up to her new school. Remember, she is being bullied by Dinah and her friends and the headteacher (Ms Manxome) has taken away her phone. Luke has been very kind to her. Your monologue should be at least 100 words and should include stage directions. Challenge: Rehearse your monologue and give yourself a what went well and an even better if.

KS4

Years 9 -11 - 60 mins Choose a monologue from the selection. Nabs Monologue is a recommendation. Then complete the activities on the PowerPoint.

  1. Write down the OBJECTIVES and ACTIONS of the monologue.
  2. Rehearse and perform the monologue out loud.
  3. Design a set or costume for your monologue.

KS5

Year 12 – 60 mins Create a set design for your own production of Woyzeck. Draw and annotate your ideas and think about how you will deal with the episodic nature of the text! Challenge/extension – BUILD IT!
